Bottega Veneta Fall 2023 – Milan Fashion Week

Matthieu Blazy, the creative mastermind behind Bottega Veneta, has done it again. For the third time in a row, he has left audiences in awe with his latest fashion collection Bottega Veneta Fall 2023. This time around, the designer showcased a collection that not only elevated the fashion game but also spoke to the everyday lives of his audience.

Blazy described the collection as “an odyssey of characters.” He was inspired by the idea of carnivals, where everyone walks in the same direction and celebrates together. Instead of editing the collection, Blazy and his team decided to keep adding characters to the collection, resulting in a diverse array of 81 looks.

The designer posed the question, “When do we start to be chic?” and at Bottega Veneta, the answer is always. The collection defied the current fashion trends and instead showcased the different ways in which chic can be achieved. The show started with a sheer dressing gown and house shoes and ended with a leather tank top and jeans. In between, the audience was treated to a variety of beautiful, innovative clothing, including layered dresses, an exceptional little black dress, and jelly pumps.

Blazy was dedicated to using light and unconstrained fabrics in his collection. He even went as far as shaving leather to make it more weightless. The silhouettes in the collection ranged from extreme to clean and tailored. From the “rolled” waistband skirts inspired by mermaids to double-layer coats and jackets for both men and women, there was something for everyone.

What truly sets Blazy apart is his generosity of spirit and inclusivity. He stated, “I always look at how women and men here layer. It’s very sophisticated, even when it doesn’t work, you know? It’s so personal.” This show marked a Blazy’s another success, and it’s clear that his enthusiasm is contagious. Audience members walked out of the show feeling happier and ennui-free, eagerly anticipating what he has in store next.
