BLUEMARBLE is a fashion brand that is all about the journey, not the destination. Each collection is a mix of personal, cultural, and aspirational influences, and this season is no exception.
The brand was inspired by the carnivals of New Orleans and Venice, two celebrations where people let loose and express themselves through vibrant, colorful clothing.
The collection features eclectic layers of tactile materials and intricate surface details, including rainbow fake fur, reversible outerwear, and sequin-decorated clothing. The brand’s recognizable wave pattern is present throughout the collection, adding a touch of visual excitement.
The clothing is designed to be both youthful and eccentric, and the brand experiments with different fabrics and treatments to achieve original outcomes.
BLUEMARBLE is a finalist for the 2023 International Woolmark Prize and has imagined merino wool in creative ways that are true to the brand. The collection also includes footwear, faux fur hats, and 3D-printed eyewear.
The brand’s designer, Anthony Alvarez, says that the goal of the collection is to capture a sense of hedonism and counterculture iconography, while also showing how embellishment can be worn every day. This is the essence of BLUEMARBLE.
