BALENCIAGA moves to succumb to the seductive allure of California, choosing to step out of its Parisian stronghold. This illustrious Paris-based fashion house intends to light up Los Angeles with its Fall 2024 men’s and women’s collections, to be revealed in a high-profile fashion show on December 2. While whispers of the venue and further specifics remain ensconced in the mystery of the fashion underworld, the anticipation is palpable.

A brand known for its bold aesthetic decisions, BALENCIAGA‘s flagship boutique, nestled at 338 North Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, masterfully mirrors an industrial warehouse decor. The aesthetic choice reflects a fearless embrace of unconventionality, further amplified by the choice of location for their upcoming show.

BALENCIAGA’s innovative creative director, Demna, is no stranger to American soil. Casting our minds back to May 2022, during the resort 2023 season, Demna captivated the world by staging a runway show on the iconic floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Models in full latex suits, their identities hidden behind a facade of ponytails, braids, and exaggerated false eyelashes, were a sight to remember. With this history of challenging the conventional norms, the upcoming show in Los Angeles promises to be no less than a spectacle.

BALENCIAGA’s wanderlust doesn’t stop with L.A. The fashion house will return to its roots during Paris Fashion Week, scheduled from September 25 to October 3, where Demna plans to reveal the Summer 2024 collection. It appears the Kering-owned fashion house is set to spearhead the expansive pre-fall collection season, often highlighted by destination shows.

Meanwhile, the fashion circuit sees no slowdown. Chanel plans to unveil its next Métiers d’Art collection in Manchester, England, on December 7. Furthermore, California, now crowned as a glamorous hotspot for destination shows, has recently played host to some of the industry’s biggest names. Versace, Ralph Lauren, DIOR, Louis Vuitton, CELINE, and Saint Laurent have all graced the Golden State with their runway events in recent years.
