AXEL ARIGATO, the brand founded in 2014 by Max Svärdh and Albin Johansson, two Swedes from e-commerce, teams up with French-Swedish graffiti artist André Saraiva to launch a collaborative collection that will be launched at the first-ever Parisian edition of the Art Basel fair, Oct. 20-23 at the Grand Palais éphémère in Paris.
The collection draws its inspiration from André’s iconic Mr. A character, a “sort of long-legged shadok with a big smiling face and a top hat,” as described by journalist Marie-Hélène Martin in her portrait of André “André Saraiva, à la faveur de la nuit” published in the French daily Libération in 2005.
The limited edition capsule includes women’s and men’s clothing as well as objects featuring the cheerful Mr. A. André’s famous signature appears on a Teddy jacket in wool and PU leather, the capsule’s flagship piece, t-shirts and polo shirts, but also on AXEL ARIGATO’s famous Dice Hi and A-Dice Lo sneakers, vintage-inspired design modern staples of the brand.
