Apple is celebrating Black History Month by launching the Black Unity Collection and a range of new content that celebrates Black culture and community.

The collection includes a special edition Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Loop, a new matching watch face, and an iPhone wallpaper. Apple has also created a series of Apple Maps Guides in collaboration with the Smithsonian, TV and film collections curated by Dr. Jelani Cobb, and more.

To support Black and Brown communities, Apple is expanding its support of five organizations through its Racial Equity and Justice Initiative (REJI) program. These organizations are committed to providing economic, educational, and creative opportunities in communities of color. The App Store will spotlight apps and games that provide creative solutions for Black communities, including financial wellness apps, educational games, and hip-hop culture apps.

Also on the program, Apple Music features Black artists and their contributions to music and culture, including new episodes of The Message and additional radio programming on Apple Music 1, Country, and HITS. The Apple TV app showcases series and films curated by Dr. Jelani Cobb, focusing on the theme “The Matter of Black Lives”. Apple Fitness+ shares new workouts celebrating Black artists and a new meditation led by Fitness+ trainer JoAnna Hardy. And Apple News highlights articles, interviews, and audio stories about the Black experience in America while Apple Podcasts spotlights shows created by Black influencers, including Bridget Todd, Bob the Drag Queen, Monét X Change, and Ebro Darden.

This celebration of Black History Month by Apple is a powerful tribute to the impact and influence of Black communities on the world. Apple’s support of organizations committed to providing economic, educational, and creative opportunities to communities of color and its celebration of Black music, media, spaces, and theory in its products and services is an important step in promoting racial equity and justice.
