As Alpina announces its participation in the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE – Brest, a grueling single-handed yacht race, it introduces two Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic limited-editions, a watch that is a paragon of precision and durability.
Alpina, a name synonymous with horological excellence since 1883, has always pushed the boundaries of watchmaking. The Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic is no exception. Crafted for the open seas, this watch is designed with the robustness required to face the challenging conditions of ocean racing. The 41-millimeter cushion-shaped Extreme case is a testament to this, made from steel that can withstand severe environments. The crown is ingeniously designed for easy adjustment, even amidst the harsh ocean spray.
What sets the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic apart is its attention to detail. The water resistance of this watch is certified to 200 meters, a feature underscored by a solid, screw-down caseback, which proudly bears the race’s name. Inside this formidable casing lies the heart of the watch – the Swiss Made AL-525 automatic movement. This movement, with a 38-hour power reserve, drives three central hands and a date display, all under a non-reflective sapphire crystal.
Alpina’s commitment to precision and resilience is evident in these two limited editions of the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic unveiled for the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE – Brest. The first, a 100-piece series, showcases an all-steel design, with a deep navy blue dial, luminous hour markers, and hand-polished hands. The second, a 150-piece series, offers a sportier look with a silvered dial, contrasting blue strap, and unique luminous blue coatings on the hour markers and hands, echoing the race’s colors.
Alpina ambassador Éric Péron, a seasoned yachtsman, will be among the first to experience the reliability of this timepiece in the extreme conditions of the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE – Brest. His association with Alpina since October 2023 underscores the brand’s deep connection with the world of competitive sailing.
Alpina’s dedication to ocean racing extends beyond this single event. Their long-term commitment includes participation in the upcoming Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe, further cementing their reputation in the world of yachting.
