Swiss watchmaker Alpina marks its 140th anniversary by making its debut at the prestigious Watches and Wonders watch fair in Geneva. To honor this milestone, the brand expands the revived Alpina Alpiner Extreme collection with four new models that embody the brand’s DNA of sporty aesthetics and functionality. For the first time ever, three of these timepieces feature an integrated steel bracelet that melds elegance and comfort for the wearer.

The Integrated Steel Bracelet: A First for the Alpiner Extreme

The introduction of an integrated steel bracelet in the Alpiner Extreme collection is an innovation. This specially-designed bracelet eliminates the need for a first link, which often widens the case. The use of transverse links with an elongated central link ensures flexibility and comfort.

Taking durability into account, Alpina has given the bracelet a brushed finish that gracefully accommodates any scratches caused by extreme conditions. The deployant buckle on the steel version remains unchanged from its rubber strap counterpart, maintaining both elegance and comfort.

The Iconic Triangular Pattern

The dial of the Alpiner Extreme collection continues to showcase the brand’s iconic triangular pattern, inspired by Alpina’s logo. This pattern is also present on the counterweight of the seconds hand for the Automatic version, serving as a tribute to the snowy Alpine peaks that hold a special place in the brand’s heritage.

All indexes and hands are applied and luminescent, ensuring optimal legibility. The date is displayed at 3 o’clock on the Alpiner Extreme Automatic, while the Alpiner Extreme Automatic Regulator highlights its unique layout with three counters for hours, minutes, and seconds.

Varied Designs with a Common Heritage

The new additions to the Alpiner Extreme collection feature three steel variations and one rubber variation. These timepieces, while distinct, share a common design heritage. The robust steel case, with its unique cushion shape and alternating polished and matte finishes, is an aesthetic signature of the Alpiner Extreme line.

The crown, located at 3 o’clock and protected by two side guards, is equipped with a grooved rubber grip for optimal handling. Each crown is also screwed to ensure water resistance up to 200 meters.

Reliable and Robust Movements

The Alpina Alpiner Extreme Automatic and Regulator models are powered by the AL-525 caliber (28,800 alt./h) and the AL-650 caliber (28,800 alt./h) respectively. Both movements boast a 38-hour power reserve, offering the reliability and autonomy needed for those seeking adventure.

As Alpina celebrates its 140th anniversary, the brand continues to honor its legacy with timepieces that expertly blend sportiness, durability, and style. The latest additions to the Alpiner Extreme collection showcase Alpina’s unwavering commitment to innovation and mastery in watchmaking.

Limited Editions and Vibrant Color Combinations

The Alpiner Extreme collection now includes two new limited-edition Regulator Automatic models with only 888 pieces each, and two new Automatic versions with three central hands for a traditional time-reading experience.

These timepieces feature captivating color combinations that showcase the brand’s penchant for harmonious design. The first Alpiner Extreme Automatic Regulator model features a blue dial with gray sunburst counters, evoking the sky above a sunlit Alpine summit. The Automatic models come in two variations: one with a gray dial and a brushed gray bracelet, and another with a navy blue dial featuring a hint of color on the crown grip.

The fourth and final model is the Alpiner Extreme Automatic Regulator on a rubber strap, which boasts a black dial with two black counters. This bold, sporty design is highly legible, thanks to silver hands and indexes.
