Swiss watch manufacturer Alpina has unveiled the official timekeeper of the Freeride World Tour 2023, the Alpina Alpiner Extreme Automatic.
This watch is designed for thrill-seekers who want to explore the most demanding environments and is the perfect companion for those who participate in the Freeride World Tour.
The Freeride World Tour, also known as “FWT,” is one of the most technical and risky competitions in the world, taking skiers and snowboarders to some of the wildest destinations of extreme downhill skiing. This year, the tour will take place in five countries, , where the competitors will face each other between March 25th and April 2nd 2023, ending on the Bec des Rosses in Verbier, Switzerland. Alpina has planned an event to commemorate the occasion, revamping the venue in its brand’s colors and offering fans a dedicated area to follow the event from the front row.
The Alpina Alpiner Extreme Automatic is a timepiece worthy of the sporting challenge, designed to withstand extreme conditions. The watch features an automatic caliber clocked at 4 Hz, housed in a cushion-shaped steel case that is mostly brushed, making it resistant to shocks and scratches. The strap is made of rubber, ready for slips, extreme temperatures, and the most unlikely treatments, while the crown is encased in a rubber grip to ensure a perfect hold even for gloved riders.
The watch is easy to read, with white luminescent hands and indexes on a black dial and the Freeride World Tour logo at 6 o’clock. The thick anti-reflective scratch-resistant sapphire crystal offers a clear view of the dial, which features a historical reminder of Alpina’s emblem. The dial back and the counterweight of the seconds hand are in the image of Alpina’s famous triangle symbol, representing the alpine peaks for which the watch is designed.
