Cartoons are a vast world to explore for both children and adults. It is not surprising that their characters often inspire fashion and designers who do not hesitate to showcase them, with love and often with lightness and fantasy, these heroes who have definitely marked their childhood. “Sesame Street” at Moschino by Jeremy Scott, “Chihiro” at Loewe by Jonathan Anderson, Dumbo always at Loewe or Coach, Coyote and Bip Bip of Looney Tunes at Raf Simons or Calvin Klein, when he was artistic director for the American house. And recently Disney at Givenchy or Looney Tunes at BOSS. Let’s talk about Looney Tunes, the Warner Bros cartoon series, a recurring subject of inspiration, has over the years inspired many fashion houses, like recently the Italian brand Alanui of brother and sister Nicolò and Carlotta Oddi.

The Alanui x Looney Tunes collection plunges us once again into the peaceful atmosphere of our childhood, resurrecting the charismatic characters of this animated series, first broadcast in April 1929.
Thus, the carrot-eating hare Bugs Bunny and the naughty yellow canary Tweety have been happily featured on various of the brand’s iconic garments and accessories. The former appears jovially on the back and front of the Bandana Jacquard cardigan and on a black sweatshirt, while the latter is eternally aggressive on the back and mischievous on the front of the Tweety Cowboy Icon cardigan.

Bugs Bunny, Tweety and Sylvester are cult characters who belong to the world of animation and the fantastic imaginary of generations of children,” says Carlotta Oddi, founder and creative director of the brand. “For this collaboration we have carefully chosen some artwork from the Warner Bros library which could dialogue with our iconic patterns, thus contextualizing them within the collection and hybridizing them with our style.”

At a time when nostalgia and carefreeness are glimpsed as the ultimate bulwark against the threats we face, the childlike imagination is always a great way to create an emotional connection with consumers.
