The Autumn/Winter 2023 season heralds a new chapter for adidas SPEZIAL, showcasing an array of styles that redefine contemporary fashion. This year, the collection, under the expert guidance of Gary Aspden, adidas archivist and SPEZIAL founder, presents an invigorating blend of classic designs and innovative materials, epitomizing the essence of modern streetwear.
adidas SPEZIAL’s latest footwear range includes seven unique silhouettes, each offering a distinct perspective on style and functionality. The Moscrop 2 SPZL leads the charge, a refreshed take on last year’s model, featuring light gray hues and updated paneling, combined with a split dellinger web and dye cut EVA tooling. This design nods to the Argentinian adidas Infinity, blending heritage with contemporary flair.

Another highlight, the Hiaven SPZL, reemerges in a sleek, monochromatic black, equipped with an adi-Tex membrane for unrivaled protection against harsh weather. This fusion of style and practicality exemplifies the forward-thinking approach of adidas SPEZIAL.
The Samba Deco SPZL, inspired by a 1970s training shoe, makes a bold statement in two colorways. One pays tribute to a classic 1980s football boot with its black and green palette, while the other references the original 1970s Trainer with a brown and white scheme. These sneakers honor adidas‘ rich history but also resonate with contemporary fashion sensibilities.
Further expanding the collection, the Inverness SPZL, an outdoor-leisure hybrid, evolves from the Carnforth SPZL, presented in a dark brown colorway that harmonizes with the Haslingden Jacket. Complementing this are the Englewood SPZL, a reinterpretation of the Galaxy II high top, and the Lawkholme SPZL, which deconstructs 80s running shoe aesthetics with a minimalist approach.
adidas SPEZIAL doesn’t stop at footwear; the collection also boasts a range of apparel and accessories, emphasizing recycled fabrics. The iconic Haslingden Jacket and the Moorfield Anorak stand out, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and sustainability. The Topfield liner, versatile and adorned with Mod Trefoil branding, enhances the functionality and style of these outerwear pieces.
For the tracksuit aficionados, the Sudell TT and TP feature an extended Mod Trefoil logo, complemented by a wrap-around mountain graphic, embodying the adventurous spirit of the collection. The range also includes t-shirts, polos, crewnecks, and hoodies, perfect for layering in the cooler months. Finishing the accessories lineup are the ‘box logo’ Beanie and the Chilcott Hat, a fleece-lined cap with foldable flaps, marrying style with practicality.
The launch of the adidas SPEZIAL Autumn/Winter 2023 collection is brought to life in a campaign film featuring iconic footballer Roy Keane, presenting a personal portrait that transcends his professional persona. Accompanying this is a series of stills by Kevin Cummins, setting the collection against the backdrop of modernist architecture and the breathtaking Lake District.
Available in limited quantities, this collection is a testament to adidas SPEZIAL’s commitment to blending heritage with innovation, available through the adidas Confirmed app and select retailers.
