She says, “When designing our tennis collections, we always strive to honor the surface it will be worn on and the city it will be premiered in. For this collection, we took inspiration from tailors in London. We studied their unique techniques and then worked on combining those methods, that have withstood the test of time, with our technology. We’re excited to see our next gen athletes in the collection as they strive to inspire new traditions on and off the court this grass season.”
The expansive collection boasts 14 unique pieces, each bearing the mark of meticulous craftsmanship and the adaptability of the latest adidas technology. Standouts include the Printed AEROREADY FreeLift T-Shirt, which is adorned with “Technical Heraldry” artwork that pays homage to the global sporting culture. The Tennis Seamless AEROREADY T-Shirt Pro offers unparalleled comfort, with its open hole design fostering breathability. The Tennis Seersucker AEROREADY 2in1 Short further exemplifies the collection’s nod to tradition with its use of seersucker, a fabric beloved by British tailors. Every piece is infused with the game-changing AEROREADY technology, ensuring athletes feel dry and comfortable on court.
The FW23 London Tennis collection, premiering in a color palette of clean white with accents of vibrant lucid lime and lucid lemon, will be sported by adidas’ finest – Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger Aliassime, Xinyu Wang, Sascha Zverev, Dana Mathewson, Jessica Pegula, Maria Sakkari, and Martin de la Puente.
Felix Auger Aliassime shares, “Grass season is very special to me. It is the surface tennis was first played on. The prestige that comes with that is something you feel as soon as you arrive in the city. Honoring that legacy through what I wear on court is important to me. But at the same time, I want to leave my own mark through innovative play. To do that, the clothes I wear during the tournament have to meet the demands of modern tennis.”
