Action Bronson, the renowned rapper and chef, has been a proud fan of New Balance for years and he is now putting his own spin on the New Balance 990v6.
The Queens-based artist has taken to social media to announce the release date of his collaboration with the iconic brand. On March 17th, his limited edition 990v6 will be available on a micro-site created for this purpose, specializinginlife.com. Subscribers to the site’s email list will receive a notification about the drop and the wider public can expect the shoe to be available globally on March 24th.
Fans of the rapper have been eagerly waiting for his take on the New Balance 990v6 and Bronson teased the world with a sneak peek of the multi-colored design in September 2022. The past few months have seen several photos of the shoe and the reaction has been mixed.
Despite its debut in November of last year, the New Balance 990v6 has yet to make a big impact. However, Bronson’s collaboration is expected to bring new energy to the Fuel Cell-cushioned design. Some people have criticized the design for being too over-the-top, but fans of the rapper are sure to love it.
The “Baklava” 990v6 is made with high-quality materials and features a mix of different colors across the upper and sole. The mostly blue sole is paired with muted brown suede and neon green mesh, making for a unique and experimental look, even by New Balance standards. Bronson’s “baklava” branding can be found on the tongue and sock-liner.
