Prepare to be amazed as the Aurora Collection, featuring 12 rare Ferrari models, is finally revealed to the public and set to make a grand entrance at an exceptional upcoming Sotherby’s auction.

This impressive array of automotive masterpieces has been kept under wraps for years by a secretive Swedish collector, and now, it’s time for these magnificent machines to change hands.

For decades, the Aurora Collection remained an enigma, shrouded in secrecy and hidden from the public eye. Assembled by an unnamed Swedish collector, the collection boasts not only 12 exceptional Ferrari models, but also two equally remarkable Mercedes-Benz sports cars. As a part of the Villa Erba sale in Italy, RM Sotheby’s will auction off this exquisite assortment, offering each historically significant vehicle without reserve.

Choosing a headliner among these exceptional vehicles is challenging, but the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta by Scaglietti undoubtedly stands out. This radiant red coupé, one of only 165 ever built, retains its original chassis and engine numbers. Known as one of the most beautiful grand tourers ever built, this iconic vehicle was also featured in the 1968 film, The Love Bug. Unsurprisingly, it’s expected to fetch between $8 million and $9.5 million at the auction.

Another strong contender for the collection’s centerpiece is the 1956 Ferrari 500 TR Spider by Scaglietti. This open-top racing marvel boasts an extensive competition history and is only the third of 17 examples ever produced. With an estimated selling price between $4.4 million and $4.95 million, this vehicle is sure to pique the interest of collectors.

For those with a penchant for the unconventional, the metallic brown 1973 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spider by Scaglietti presents a bold option. One of 122 factory-built Daytona Spiders, this exquisite convertible still possesses its original chassis, engine, and transaxle, and is anticipated to go for $2.75 million to $3.3 million.

Beyond these three standout models, the Aurora Collection offers a treasure trove for every type of collector. Highlights include a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 by Scaglietti ($3.1 million to $3.65 million), a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS by Pininfarina ($1.45 million to $1.85 million), and a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet Series II by Pininfarina ($1.1 million to $1.55 million). Modern Ferrari enthusiasts will be thrilled to see offerings such as the 2019 Monza SP1 ($2.75 million to $3.3 million), 2011 SA Aperta ($1.1 million to $1.5 million), and the 2001 550 Barchetta Pininfarina ($275,000 to $350,000).

For collectors who favor German craftsmanship, the Aurora Collection also features a sought-after Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing ($1.3 million to $1.65 million) and a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 Sc Roadster ($650,000 to $900,000).
